Hello, My name is Mahmoud. I’m a father of two children from Gaza, living in the Shujaiya neighborhood. I used to work as a radiology specialist in one of Gaza’s hospitals before the war changed everything.

In one of the most difficult days of 2023, shortly after the war began, my son Yehya was born amidst the sounds of shelling and explosions. Instead of celebrating his birth, we lived through one of the most terrifying nights of our lives. Since that day, we’ve been on a painful journey of displacement that still hasn’t ended.

We were forced to flee our home in Shujaiya, leaving behind everything we owned—our memories, our safety, our lives. We fled to Rafah in the south, but had to leave again after the Israeli ground invasion. We moved multiple times between Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, searching for shelter from the heat of summer, the cold of winter, and the constant bombings.

When we were allowed to return to the north, we tried to go back to what was left of our home, clean it, and live in it again. But the war struck once more. We were displaced yet again, with our two young children, without enough food, clean water, or even a roof over our heads.

Today, we are living in unimaginable conditions. My wife, our two children, and I sleep out in the open, just trying to survive one day at a time. My daughter Leila (3 years old) and my son Yehya (2 years old) have known nothing of childhood but fear, cold, and hunger.

I’m launching this campaign to ask for your help in providing: • A safe place to stay • Food and clean water • Essential supplies for our children (milk, diapers, clothes) • Access to healthcare if possible
